Color Guide – Clip In Extensions
1. Match your lengths – not your roots
When choosing a color, always focus on your lengths not your root color.
This is because color differences are most visible where your natural hair meets the extensions. That’s why it’s important that the shade blends seamlessly there.
2. Find the right color tone
What do your lengths look like?
An even, solid color? - Choose a Neutral shade.
A soft transition from darker roots to lighter lengths? - Choose Balayage.
Clearly darker roots? - Choose Rooted.
Lighter highlights in your hair? - Choose Highlight.
3. Choose shade based on your desired result
Want a natural, even tone without variation? - Choose the same shade as your lengths.
Want to add more dimension? - Choose a lighter shade to create dimension.
Want to create more depth? - Choose a darker shade for stronger contrast.
If you’re unsure between two shades, it’s better to go slightly lighter – it creates a softer result.
4. Always compare shades in natural daylight
Lighting affects how colors are perceived. Warm lighting makes tones appear warmer, while cool lighting makes them appear cooler. That’s why it’s important to compare your hair color with the extensions in natural daylight for the most accurate and natural result.
